Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is designed to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one address, but to appear as being sent from a different one, ordinarily with the objective to fraud the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a unique record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers around the world get it. The record features all the email servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an email address part of the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and if the sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted destination. If, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be sent and it will be removed. Whenever you employ this service, it will prevent third parties from sending spam emails that appear to have been sent from you.
SPF Protection in Website Hosting
SPF protection can be enabled for each domain name hosted in a website hosting account on our cloud platform with no more than a few clicks. The function can be found in the Emails section of our revolutionary Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to use it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers which will be certified to send email messages from your emails. As an additional option you can even restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain name only if it has our MX records, in other words when our servers manage the email addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution provides you with the highest standard of safety, but it's not applicable if only your site is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain name are handled in another place. In either case, the SPF protection service will keep your emails protected from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.
SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The Hepsia website hosting Control Panel, that is provided with all of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages, will provide you with an incredibly user-friendly interface to enable the SPF security service for every domain that you host inside your new account. A couple of clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that then you will only have to type in the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be allowed to send messages from your email addresses. In case the e-mail messages are handled on our end and not by some other provider, you're able to raise the security level even further and benefit from an option for all the outgoing e-mail messages to be sent only if your domains include our MX records. This option will provide you with better control and it'll eliminate any chance of somebody forging your e-mails with the intention of spamming and scamming people. It is not applicable if only your web site is on our innovative cloud website hosting platform, while your e-mails are handled by a different service provider. If you aren't sure what options to pick, our tech support crew will assist you 24/7.
